In Atlanta, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across Georgia, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 5 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Goldberg’s at (404) 761-1999; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is goldbergbagel.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Atlanta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Atlanta peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very disappointed. Ordered two $19 Nova Bagels, $50 with tip. Received both without cream cheese! Walked back to ask them politely to put cream cheese on them and they refused. Only after complaining did they hand me two small cups of cream cheese. No apology. I’ll opt for Dunkin next time.

I had this server, Lilia B, give me the most needlessly unprofessional and rude service in years. It started off normal. It was busy and she had to step away as I was ready to order, that was fine and I laughed it off. When she was ready, I asked her if they had gluten free bagels and she stated that they only have 1 type of gluten free bagel (as if I annoyed her and should have known). I was ready to order and started my order while she walked off mid-sentence. She started talking trash to me as if I wasn’t there to another co-worker. I’m asking the lady what her problem is and if she is okay because her mood shifted quickly on me. She told her coworker that she didn’t like the way I spoke my order out to her (I spoke up and enunciated because she didn’t hear me before). Her coworker was professional though. Long story short, my order was wrong too but I was busy on another concourse. Anyway, Lilia B needs to learn service industry etiquette because I basically just handed Goldberg’s $17 for a poor experience.

I ordered an Asiago bagel with chive cream cheese and was overcharged, and received the wrong bagel. A plain bagel with flavored cream cheese should be $5.80 an I was charged $7.80 before tax!!! Grossly overcharged. Plus it took a long time to get my bagel. Many employees standing around and only one toasting bagels. I thought they charged me for a side of cream cheese instead of a smear, so I didn’t say anything but when I opened my bagel, it was just a thin smear. Avoid this place unless you want to be overcharged.

The guys on the evening shift are wonderful. I asked for some special changes to my bagel sandwich and they were kind and accommodating - very different than most airport food workers tend to be.
